Richecard Richard signs a pro contract
After Aaron Kamardin last week, and Nassim Ahmed earlier today, it's Richecard Richard's turn to sign his first professional contract with OM. The young right-back initialed the documents in the presence of Jacques-Henri Eyraud on Friday afternoon. He has signed for the next three seasons.
Richecard Richard was born on March 18, 2002, in Clichy-la-Garenne in the Hauts-de-Seine. From 9 to 14 years old, he played for AF Epinay-sur-Seine before playing for two seasons at the Cosmopolitan Club in Taverny. In 2017, he joined Olympique de Marseille. After a first season where he took the time to adjust to the faster pace, Richecard Richard took off. In the U17 national then U19 National and National 2 in 2019-20, he was also selected eight times with France's U17 team between December 2018 and April 2019. Elected best young person in the training center in December 2018, he is today rewarded for all his efforts. A fast, physical and powerful player, he is now with the professional group to perfect his qualities.
Nasser Larguet, OM Academy Director
“He's signed his first professional contract because he has real potential. He’s an international with real defender potential. He is powerful, fast, he has pep with good technique, but I said to him: 'be careful! You haven't arrived.' For him, it’s this season or never to say 'I deserve this professional contract and I will go and seek this place.' The more so as he progresses to the right side position which is a sought-after position. He has all his chances, all the ingredients: technically, physically but he has to connect in his head what is the very high level, and not just the high level ... He can do it."
