Valentin Rongier: ‘We have nothing to lose’

It's everything. This match is special for us, the club and the fans. We can't afford to be lacking in intensity or in the desire to win every duel. We've been working with the coach for 8 months, the aim is to become a great team. We are continuing to work to maintain this objective, to qualify for the Champions League and to win matches. We are working to be the team we want to be.

It is one of the best teams in Europe, that is a fact. We have all seen the match against Liverpool. We are not going there to watch them, we are going there to play and to get something out of it. We like to control matches, and so does this team. We will be facing a team that likes to control the game. We mustn't panic. We must remember where we were last season. All the lights are green, there are 27 points left to take and the objective is to qualify for the Champions League. Even if we lose, we mustn't panic.

We have worked with Bennacer, he is an intelligent player and I have no concerns about our understanding on the pitch.

Adrien Rabiot is a very good footballer, he is a leader through his exemplary nature and his level. He has integrated into a good group. He is a good player and a good person.

We are not the same team as in the first leg. We are going for it with our guts. It's a football match, there are surprises every weekend. Whatever happens, as long as we use our qualities, anything can happen.

Pol Lirola is always there when we need him. It's important to have players like that in a group. He's serious, he helps the team when the coach calls on him.

We'll see him even more later on in the session. We don't prepare for a Classico week like we do for other weeks. But we mustn't change our preparation. We prepare for it as normal.

Mason Greenwood is a young player, he can still improve a lot. We have to help him, guide him and push him. With everyone's help, he'll have a superb end to the season and help us.

We spoke with Adrien Rabiot. He didn't seem any different to other weeks. He's not the only one who goes to the Parc. If something happens, we'll all be affected. We'll be by his side.

If it hadn't upset me, there would be a problem. Nobody likes to be on the bench. The coach decides. I have no choice but to keep working to win back my place. I'm doing everything I can to show the coach that he has to use me.

We have to show the face of the OM, conquering and with possession of the ball. The coach wants it to happen our way, we're going to try to play our game, with our intentions.

We have to see it as a challenge. We have nothing to lose. It's a football match, with three points to be won, they have two arms and two legs. We're not going there to lie down.

I understand the context of a trip to the Parc but it's a shame. It's great to have them with us everywhere. It was nice to see them. We can see and know that they support us. We have to give them something in return on the pitch.

There are other players in the middle. Losing Højbjerg is never good news. When you're a team like OM, you have to have a group with a playing philosophy. If you take out a player, you have to keep the same level.

We're going to have to up the intensity. There's a lot of movement in their team. Depending on the tempo, we'll have to adapt. It all depends on the context.

Long-range shots can break a lock. We should try more. The coach doesn't want us to counter-attack after a blocked shot.

Everything can be improved. The coach is discovering our league. It took time, we've mastered what he asks of us, but he wants more. In our heads, we have to tell ourselves that we have to give 200% to be a great team.

That's the aim of this match, to see how far we've come. In terms of content and desire, we'll have to do something different from the first leg. We were all disappointed with the result against Lens. We're second in the league, so everything's positive this season. If we stay focused, we should achieve our goal.

Roberto De Zerbi: ‘We will be united at the Parc des Princes’

PSG-OM, a special match

If you come to Marseille thinking that PSG-OM is a normal match, you haven't understood anything. We are here to play these kinds of matches. It's worth 3 points, but also something more.

The way to play against PSG

I've already decided everything. We mustn't lose our identity. We know what we have to do. We have to know how to suffer, we have to know how to get our hands dirty. We also have to be patient. It would be a mistake to think we can control the game without suffering.

The absence of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

We will miss him, I feel more at ease when he is there. He is intelligent in football terms. We need to find a solution, with the same characteristics. I have three solutions, Nadir, Rongier and Kondogbia. One of the three will play, we will see who plays on Sunday.

The lessons of the first leg

In the first leg, we did what we should have done during the first 20 minutes, with 11 against 11. After the sending off, it was different. I would like us to take a mental step forward. Luis Enrique managed to get his team to take that step. I always expect more from the players, I try to maintain a balance. Mentally, we are a bit up and down at the moment, I expect more consistency in this respect.

Adrien Rabiot

I like everything about him, we are lucky to have him. He has nothing to prove, his career speaks for itself at club and international level. He has nothing to prove to me. He wanted to come here at all costs and that shows the greatness of his personality.

After the defeat against Lens

This was a very important match for our team. We were unlucky. We had 4 or 5 big chances against a defensive team. You can't have 10 or 15 chances in this kind of match. It was one of our best performances at home. When the result is negative, you overlook the performance, but we were able to keep a clear head.

The choices against Lens: Mason Greenwood and Luis Henrique

They didn't start because they weren't 100% physically and mentally. They are very good people, they are not necessarily used to playing at the top of the table. When they came on, we saw that they weren't 100%. I give them a hug every morning at training. They had a different programme this week. There are no arguments, everyone wants what's best for OM. There's nothing new. We didn't lose our place, we're missing points, we're not 100% satisfied and we'll be united at the Parc des Princes.

The presence of supporters at training

When I was at Foggia, before a big game, I wanted people to be there. It was important for the players to meet the supporters, especially as they can't travel to Paris. I try to include the supporters as much as possible in what we do. I try to create a good relationship between the supporters and the players.
