Aware of its responsibility and eager to continually strengthen its commitment, OM is making efforts to reduce and manage waste as a top priority.

With the support of the South Region, several initiatives were carried out by the club throughout the last season. This initial phase allowed all the stakeholders of the stadium to come together and develop a common vision. Various experiments led the club to define the method for an exemplary stadium in resource management, where the involvement of club supporters will be a key factor. The club is investing the necessary resources to involve fans in waste management at the Orange Vélodrome.

The club also relies on the support of the Marseille association Clean My Calanques, which is active on match days to raise awareness among supporters about waste management, as well as the participation of the company Onet. These operations are part of a series of concrete actions taken by the club for environmental causes.

These actions align with the clear commitments made by the club within the framework of the Ministry of Sports and WWF Charter:

  • Eliminate 90% of single-use plastic
  • Recycle 80% of waste

This season, the eco-responsible approach is accelerating through the "Very Selective" project, with two key actions:

The elimination of single-use plastic
This involves further implementing reusable cups, following the successful experiment conducted last season, which resulted in a return rate of over 80% for the cups.

Waste sorting at the stadium entrance
Implementing a selective sorting system on the stadium esplanades before entering the venue.

These measures complement the club's efforts over several seasons through actions and experiments that will multiply from match to match to optimize waste management.

Olympique de Marseille would like to thank all of its partners and service providers for their involvement in the club's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative.
