The reaction of our coach, Roberto De Zerbi, at a press conference after his team's defeat at the Orange Vélodrome to RC Lens on Matchday 25 of the 2024-2025 McDonald's Ligue 1.

What is your analysis of the match?

It wasn't our best match of the year, but we played well enough to win. Lens played with nine players in the last 20 metres. We had a few chances. Lens were in our half once in the first half and twice in the second half.

Greenwood and Luis Henrique didn't start because they're not 100%, as we saw during the week. We have to stay confident, we're having a good championship and prepare for the game in Paris on Tuesday. We have to roll up our sleeves and stick together.

Did your team lack audacity?

Yes, we could have pushed a bit harder, when it came to one-on-ones. We lacked quality in the last 25 metres.

Are you worried about the tightening of the standings?

No, there's no fear, we know where we've come from and how far we've come. We need to get back to the form and quality of certain players, as well as speed and agility in the game.

A word about Valentin Rongier's match...

He played well. I had doubts about whether to leave him on after he got the yellow card. I pushed for the win, we had chances with Luis Henrique and Maupay. We would have scored, the analysis would have been different. We conceded a goal in stoppage time... With ‘ifs’ you can say anything and that's no use to me as a coach.

You made changes at half-time...

Dedić came off because he had taken a blow to the foot. His foot was bleeding and he came off. Nadir had a good game in terms of quantity but less in terms of quality. With Greenwood and Luis Henrique, we are waiting for them to create more chances but that wasn't the case tonight.
