OM-OL (3-2): Coach's reaction
Roberto De Zerbi: ‘With sacrifice and character
A last-gasp victory
I told the team that tonight I felt privileged and lucky. For 90 minutes, they played with sacrifice and character. I'm lucky to be OM's coach because this stadium is unique in Europe. It's a privilege. Although we're paid to work here, we should be paying for our tickets to see this spectacle. I say that sincerely.
An emotional evening
I came here to train in this stadium and to experience this kind of match, to see the stadium explode. And tonight, the stadium exploded! You can see all the sacrifices that Medhi, Pablo and the club staff have made. When you experience nights like that, that's why you love your job.
Team composition
Choices have to be made beforehand. Neal Maupay is like a son to me, but he's going through a difficult period physically. We had to stop Lyon breathing. We played well. In the first half, they only came into our box twice. We missed a few things but it was a good period. When you have the idea of playing, you have to keep the ball and when you don't, you have to eat into the opposition.
Amine Gouiri's first start
I can see Amine Gouiri on the pitch. Where? We'll see later. He can play centre-forward, but I'm not forgetting Neal Maupay. If you look at our opponents' squads, they have 22-23 players, so we need to strengthen the whole squad in general.
The market
Medhi and Pablo are doing well. It's not easy to bring in players but we need two players, in midfield and at the back.
OM have bounced back
Second legs are always tougher. We didn't want to lose in Nice. It's always harder to get back on track after a defeat without losing too much. The important thing was to react immediately, which is what we did this evening and which I really appreciated.
