What is your analysis of the match?

‘We didn't play well. Auxerre deserved to win, we didn't perform at our best. Too many players were below their usual level. The referee influenced the match with his decisions, he wasn't calm. We weren't given a clear penalty, and Cornelius' sending off was scandalous. I don't think I'm being disingenuous or controversial. If I were like that, I'd walk my dog on Sundays instead of going to football matches, but that's not the case. The referee wasn't calm during the match. Perhaps past controversies influenced his decisions during the match. Nobody in the refereeing team was up to the task of a match of this level.

I hope that Cornelius' red card will not be seen outside France because it gives a bad image of French football.’

What did you think of your defence?

‘The absence of Balerdi is a significant one. Kondogbia is returning after two months out injured, for a player as physical as him, it's not easy to come back like that because his game depends a lot on his physique. Yes, Balerdi's absence is significant but too many players were not up to scratch today, that's the sad reality. From now on, we must quickly focus on the next match against Nantes.’
